Playas que admiten perros en Murcia

Continuando con nuestros posts de playas dogfriendly en España, ahora estamos explorando la región de Murcia. Murcia is a region and province in southeastern Spain. Its Mediterranean coastline, the Costa Cálida, has 250km of beaches – y 6 of these are dog friendly!

La Playa Sierra de las Moreras

Sierra de las Moreras Beach is approximately 500 meters long by 60 meters wide, it has a pleasant floor of thick golden sand combined with boulders. It is located in a semi-urban environment, being very suitable for going for a walk with your pet during any time of the year.

The dog beach of Las Moreras, in Murcia, is one of the best valued this 2023 thanks to its crystal clear waters and the natural environment that surrounds it. Do not miss it!

Cobaticas Beach is a natural beach between Bolnuevo and Percheles, which, being difficult to access, has an extraordinary beauty. The beach is 1,000 meters long by 30 meters wide and its soil is made of sand mixed with pebbles and gravel. It is ideal to enjoy if you are looking for a quiet beach where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of crowds.

Playa el Gachero

El Gachero beach for dogs is an urban and stony beach that combines hard sand with boulders. It has a relaxed atmosphere and occupancy is usually very low as it is not very popular with bathers, but thanks to its moderate waves and its crystal clear waters it is pleasant to visit with your pet in summer.

Although if you want to enjoy a great day at the beach with your dog, we recommend that you travel a few kilometers to Las Moreras Dog Beach.

There is a new beach for dogs in Cartagena. It is a canine area on the beach of La Calera, between Isla Plana and La Azohia.

This beach is about 1100 meters long and 10 meters wide. It is made up of rock, gravel and coarse sand, and is low-occupancy.

This new dog beach is located very far from the urban center and very close to the dog beaches of Mazarrón, an aspect that has been highly criticized by various animal associations in Cartagena that have long been demanding a dog beach in the city.

Update 2023: The town hall has enabled another beach to go with a dog in summer: La Cala de Mijo, where you can also access at any time of the year.

Cañada del Negro beach is the first dog beach in Águilas and the fifth in the province of Murcia (Mazarrón already has 3 dog beaches).

La Cañada del Negro is a semi-urban beach 150 meters long and 19 meters wide on average, made up of pebbles, gravel and sand and with moderate waves. It is a beach with no services and few bathers, and for this reason it was the ideal option to turn it into a dog beach.

It has parking for 50-100 cars in the area next to the beach on a higher level and is easily accessible on foot or by car. The beach is accessed through an unpaved road that coincides with the GR-92 and GR-253.

Playa Larga de Garrobillo

The presence of animals is allowed on this beach, respecting the environmental protection criteria established for Lorca beaches as anatural park”.

It is a virgin beach of approximately 600m in length and 7m in average width, made up of golden sand and gravel with an intermediate texture, both the soil and the seabed, with moderate waves, no services and little influx of bathers , and for that reason it has been chosen to turn it into a dog beach.

The beach is open all day for those who wish to come with their pets.

Its opening season, as in most beaches where pets are allowed, is from June 1 to September 15.

It has a large car park, located one level above the beach and is easily accessible on foot through an unpaved road.

If you are looking for beaches for dogs in the Mar Menor in Murcia, you are in luck. The municipality of Los Alcázares has enabled this summer 2023 a section of Las Salinas beach to go with a dog. It is an area 140 meters long, duly signposted and delimited with a fence. It is equipped with an access walkway and a shower for dogs.

It is a fine sandy beach ideal for enjoying a great day at the beach with your family and your pet.

This summer we want the dogs in the area to have a new space where they can cool off and escape the heat, and that the owners can enjoy that beach time with their pets,” explained the Councilor for Animal Welfare, Antonio López Campoy.
